The one bird I really wanted to see in New Zealand was the kea, the only alpine parrot in the world. This inquisitive and highly intelligent bird is also known for its curiosity which leads it to pull off windshield wipers, destroy car antennas, and play with anything it can get a hold of. Our rental vehicle was no exception.
