It pays to wait and stalk. I tried for a whole week to get some loon pictures in Manitoba with limited success. Then on the way home, we spotted three, two adults and a chick. With a little luck, we were able to stalk through the brush and get some reference without disturbing them. It was magic to watch one glide through the calm water.
